Postby commodore » Wed Feb 03, 2010 1:39 am

The Commodores are now recruiting new members, of all ages, for 2010. Come and join one of the UK's top Drum Corps and enjoy the family atmosphere, the thrill of lively competition and competing abroad against the best that Europe has to offer. Typically, the European Finals takes place in front of thousands of avid supporters under floodlights at one of Hollands top Premiership clubs. No other similar hobby can offer such excitement and such fantastic experiences.
The Commodores is now an Open Age group with parents as well as youngsters performing with the Corps. Age is no problem and experience of this activity is not essential although previous mucical knowledge is beneficial.

Sections within our Drum Corps needing new Members are:
Brass instruments ranging from Soprano through to Contra Bass (Tuba)

Colour Guard. Choreographed movement and Dance using Flags, Immitation Rifles, Sabres and various other items of equipment.
Members Welcome in these areas.

Rehearsals are at Poynton High School, Tuesday evenings, 6:30 to 8:00 for Juniors (under 13) and 7:00 to 9:30 for the Seniors/Open age section.

First of all, Many thanks for your remarks, they really are appreciated:

Unfortunately, the Corps did not get through this Audition which began to look very obvious before they even started when Simon Cowell sat there yawning his head off at the youngsters – manners Simon!!. They started their marching show to which Mr Cowell very quickly ‘Buzzed in’ and commented that he didn’t understand what all the ‘Moving About’ (i.e. Marching) was for? And if Simon doesn’t understand well, you’ve got no chance. The Corps were dressed in their smart uniforms which Simon also failed to comprehend and made some derogatory comments which did not seem appropriate when being aimed at young people.
However, two guys doing a Karaoke Rap who followed the Commodores got through to the next round basically because the judges thought they had a got a lot of Bottle (But No Talent) as they finished their act only wearing very brief Lime Green Mankinis ????? What message did that send to the young Commodore members??
Thanks again
