LIGHTS !

Postby oscarsmum » Tue Feb 02, 2010 1:34 pm

I am sure there are many of us aware of this but for those who don't know

The lights - at least the Park Lane bit - does not give enough clearance time for the traffic to get through before it changes to green for the other direction.
So - please don't think we are a village (Town -oops !) of amber gamblers ! :)

Thankfully we only have these lights in the Village and not the rest of the Parish otheriwse the Town Council would have received more complaints.

Are you sure?

I reckon about 3-4 cars go through on red on every change of lights.

If the traffic gets any worse on Dickens Lane in the morning rush hour ,it wont be long before we will need stop and go lights on the corner of Clumber Rd and Dickens Lane :x :x

I think if the high school kids grew legs and walked to and from school instead of being driven , this would take a bit of pressure of the roads and the lights.

The problem with the Park Lane side of Poynton as we all know is there are only 2 roads out , so whats the answer to this problem :?: :?: :?:

Unfortunately not tolerant enough - as this morning I saw people using the one way section of Clumber Road in the wrong direction as a short cut to avoid the queues at the lights to get through to Park Lane.....
