Why oh why does there have to be such sarcasm and emphasis on class all the time. Yes they may be doing cashmere loo rolls and if there is a market for them so be it. Waitrose also have cheaper ranges and if anyone is so anti them there are alternative places to shop. Surely Poynton in order to thrive needs to cater for and accept a variety of shops and shoppers. Personally with all the carping I am amazed anyone would be willing to take a chance.

I thought that they might give us a largish working sample of what we can expect from ShareSpace (i.e. quality and finish of pavements etc) but it looks like they have just gone for something simular to that outside Burts.

Talking of Burts, when in there a few weeks ago I head one of the proprietors say that next door (i.e. between Burts and the Vernon) may become a restaurant. Just a rumor for now, but more choice of places to eat out would be good. Just hope the would "restaurant" isn't preceeded by the word "McDonalds" or "KFC" Anyway as I say jsut a rumour for now...

Could not agree more, would'ent be good not to have to go out of the village to get your underwear etc shall we take bets on it being a coffee shop ( do Waitrose have there own )

Lets hope when Waitrose finally comes to Poynton it is as popular as Morrisons, and it brings more people into the village , then perhaps more trade will follow ,
one thing we have to realise as residents that we have to support our local traders, if we dont we will lose them , Its not rocket science !
